Jumpin' Beans

Wisconsin comes to Colorado

Jill, my long time friend and college roomie, and Jada, her daughter, finally made it to Colorado for a visit. It was short and sweet....too short and sweet! The kids had a blast, Jill and I chatted for hours and we did a bit of touring around. We are already scheming a visit for next year.

Stepping Stones: a Transition Ceremony to 6th Grade

Blake celebrated his last year of elementary school on May 26 with a transitional ceremony followed by snacks in the cafetorium. Both sets of grandparents were able to attend which made it extra special! Way to go Blake!

Carter's Graduation

We headed to Nashville for Carter's graduation on May 12 and stayed for the weekend. As always we had a blast. Was bitter sweet watching my "first" baby graduate...I clearly remember changing his diapers, taking him to pre-school and baking chocolate chip cookies. At 18 (almost 19) he is still that sweet baby! We had a wonderful time visiting with the Sanderson and Honaker family with whom we haven't seen for years. Congrats Carter! We are so proud of you.

Concentration

I Really Can Play the Cello!

5th grade orchestra celebrated a year of efforts at their final concert. 5th-8th grade were present from 3 different schools and all performed. I was really curious to see if Blake truly knew how to play...indeed he did...well at least his fingers were moving! He has already signed up for 6th grade orchestra too...we will see what that produces.

Father / Daughter Dance

Kendall and Mark headed off on a date on Friday night with 14 other dads and daughters. They attended a dance hosted by a Girl Scout Troop in our area. They danced, had dinner at The Outback and then ice cream at Baskin Robbins. Kendall said the girls danced and the dads just sat around and talked!!

Kendall's First Communion

Saturday was a special day! Kendall completed her communion classes and was able to take her very first one at our Saturday service. Grandma, Grumpy and Maimes all came over and shared in the special day. To top it off, it was Grumpy's birthday too.
Happy Birthday Dad!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter from the Rohm's to you!
Kendall was the early riser...6:30am. Blake opted to sleep in until 8:30am thus the reason there are very few photos of him. He searched for his eggs while I got ready for church. Kendall always requests notes from Santa, the Tooth Fairy and as well the Easter Bunny. We had a nice day: church and then a late brunch at Cinzzetti's. It was beautiful here today so the kids are out playing.

March Madness isn't just for Basketball

Baseball season is in full swing. We played in our first tournament a couple of weeks ago at the 12 AAA level. We are finding that there aren't many 11 Major teams so we are having to move up. We started the season out strong...played 2 games on Saturday and won both. Ended up getting snowed out on Sunday so being we were the first seed going in to Sunday means we won the tournament.

Here We Come Maimes!

So last weekend we headed up to Vail. George and Blake went skiing on Saturday and had a blast. Kendall, Amy, Mark and I didn't get out of our jammies until noon. Amy and I worked hard for an hour straight to get Justin Bieber tickets for Kendall. He plays here on her birthday. After we succeeded we then played board games the rest of the day. Had a fun time! We departed early Sunday as Amy and George had skiing plans as well. That day ended up being Amy's last ski day of the season as she fractured a bone in her knee...pretty serious injury. She is non-weight bearing for at least 4 weeks and then they will go from there. Sadly, all she did was stop and hurt herself. Who knows how? At least she could have made it good and had ski patrol come and get her.

Spring Snowstorm!

The snow started falling on Tuesday around 4pm and by morning we had about a foot. We all shoveled for about 2.5 hours late Tuesday night to get a jump on it and then put in another hour Wednesday am. Now today, 24 hours later, it is melting like crazy.

Game Day!

The JawBreakers are well on their way in their 2nd season of hoops. Even as an 8 year old, the best part of the game is SNACKS!

Speed Limit 15 mph please!

Obviously Kendall received a motor scooter from Santa. We have had so much residual ice that she hasn't been able to use it outside. Needless to say, she has found a runway to use in the house. Check out the wig....her strong desire to have long hair. Remind you of anyone Maimes???
