First Day of School

Today marks the first day of school for my kiddos. Blake enters 5th grade and Kendall 3rd. Each year our cul-de-sac hosts a kick-off breakfast for the kids. Blake is drinking sparkling cider....not what you think!

Our Fishing Adventure

So I put my vacation story backwards. I am trying so hard to get caught up with my blog. Enjoy the pictures but read further down and you'll see where we did all this fun stuff. Fishing was a blast. Thank goodness for Clint and Garrett...our baiters. They were the only ones who would touch the worms and the caught fish.

Fun for All Ages....

The kids had a blast tubing even though the boat was a bit slower than they would have liked.

Summer Vacation in Nashville

Our summer truly began on July 28 when the kids and I headed down to Nashville for 10 days. We took off as soon as baseball ended and started the summer with the Sanderson's. We spent 5 days at a beautiful lakehouse about 45 minutes from their house. We swam, tubed, boated, fished, and just plain had a fantastic time. Carter and Scott joined us about 4 days in to the lakehouse trip and the fun continued. (yes Scott, continued, didn't start when you arrived!) We then finished the trip with a few days at the Sanderson's and the kids continued to play. Kendall likes to hang out with the dogs, Bogie and Birdie. She carries Birdie everywhere...I think that dog's legs don't see the floor the entire time we are there. As every visit goes, it ended way too soon and we cannot wait to see them again. Ronda and I are already trying to plan a time to get together again!

USSSA World Series Runner Up!

The BombSquad finished their 2009 season by playing in the USSSA World Series. Their age/level was held right here in Colorado so our team opted to play. We had qualified for the Series in March by winning our first tournament. We played teams from California, Missouri, Texas and Colorado. We played for a week straight in the sun and snow. (yes there was so much hail one day it looked as if it had snowed!) The boys went undefeated in their pool and pushed their way through additional games to end up placing 2nd in the nation. What an accomplishment. We lost in the final game to Team Phenom out of California. They were exactly that....phenomenal!

Go BombSquad!

Blake finished his 2nd year in competitive baseball with again an undefeated season. (17-0) His team ended up winning the League which entitles them to move up to the Major level next year. Upon completion of the League, his team played in the USSSA 10AAA Colorado State Championships. There were 20+ teams present and the BombSquad pulled out the title. They are now back-to-back champions winning last year as 9 year olds. Can't argue those accomplishments. The kids work hard, practice at least 3 days a week for 10 months straight.

Kendall Pursues High Jumping...just like Dad!

Each summer Kendall participates in a local Track-n-Field Program coordinated by our neighbor Amy Manson. Mark typically helps coach when it is high jump day. Looks like Kendall may have acquired some of her dad's high jump skills.
